Katsina State Government has called on Nigerians living in the State to embrace peace at all times to create an environment for more growth and development especially in the face of rising insecurity in the country.
Governor Aminu Masari said this during the official inauguration of the newly elected Executive Council of the association of indigenous citizens in the State.
He tasked the new leadership to join hands in the fight against insecurity in the state.
The indigenous Nigerians resident in Katsina constitutes about a quarter of the seven million population.
The Governor who was represented by his Special Assistant on indigenous Christian matters, Prince Uche Okonkwo, said the unity, peace, and security of the state should be the business of everyone.

He said given the current state of affairs in the country and the state, the new leadership of the association should do more to support the government in finding lasting peace.
The newly elected President of the association, Prince Adekunle Awe, appreciated the gesture of the State government.
He promised to promote peace and unity; calling on other states to emulate what Governor Masari is doing to unite indigenous Nigerians.
