Katsina State Governor signs reviewed N286b 2021 budget into law

Katsina Governor Aminu Masari has signed the reviewed 2021 appropriation bill of N286b into law.

The appropriation law, christened Budget of Recovery and Consolidation, was reviewed upward by N3b from the initial proposed N283b.

The upward review is as a result of several legislative actions, public hearing and debates, conducted with civil society organizations and the public.

The new appropriation law now has capital expenditure standing at N197.9b while the total recurrent expenditure is put at N88.7b.

Shortly after signing the budget into law, Governor Masari reiterated his administration’s commitment towards a better welfare for the people.

He called on the people to continue to support the policies and programmes of the government.

He also hailed their patience and perseverance during the trying time when the boys from Government Science Secondary School Kankara were abducted till their subsequent release.

Masari also thanked the state’s assembly for the quick passage of the budget, showing the commitment they have towards the progress of the government, as well as having the masses at heart.

The Speaker, Tasiu Maigari explained that the upward review of the budget by the House of Assembly became necessary, to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people.

Letters of commendation were given to Governor Masari and President Buhari over their swift actions leading to the rescue of the 344 abducted school boys from Kankara School.
