Reactions have continued to trail the recent ruling by the Supreme Court, in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over the unlawful dissolution of the 34 elected local government area chairmen in 2015, by Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State.
PDP Chairman in the State, Salisu Majigiri, hailed the ruling as not only a victory to democracy and the party as a whole, but also, serve as a blueprint to all governors in the states not to illegally dissolve constitutionally and democratically elected local councils.

On the part of the State Government, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Ahmed El-Marzuq said, the administration of Governor Masari will respect and comply with the decision of the court, as the ruling was simple and straightforward.
He added that the government has already begun payment of the entitlements to some of the parties involved, putting it to about 80 percent.
It could be recalled that Governor Masari on assumption of office in July 2015, unlawfully dissolved duly elected council officials in Katsina State, on the allegation of misappropriation of local governments funds.
