The Katsina State Government is stepping up investment in skills with a special training programme for young people and teachers
The skills programme which is in partnership with the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) and the Katsina Youth Craft Village (KYCV) had several participants including 300 selected from each of the three senatorial zones with a focus on practical, sustainable energy skills to be applied in schools and communities.
The crafts training involved the production of briquettes, fabricating modern mud stoves, and waste-to-wealth innovations.
State Coordinator of KYCV, Kabir Abdullahi Kofar, described the training as a major step in achieving Governor Radda’s “Building Your Future” agenda, which aims to transform KYCV into a premier skills hub for youth and women.
Participants received hands-on training which is expected to inspire creative engagement among youths and reduce unemployment.
The initiative follows AGILE’s visit to KYCV, where they explored innovations like converting corn husks into eco-friendly products, a method championed by Governor Radda.
This training highlights Katsina’s commitment to sustainability and economic empowerment, ensuring a brighter future for its youth and educators.
