A crisis has erupted in the African Democratic Congress in the Kebbi State Chapter, as some aggrieved members of the Working Committee have announced the suspension of some party leaders, believed to be loyal to former Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.
The members of the opposition coalition convened on Birnin Kebbi for an emergency meeting where they unanimously agreed to suspend some executives of the State Working Committee.
Those suspended are the State Chairman, Bala Sufyanu, Deputy Chairman Junaidu Muhammad Mudi, and State Secretary, Hauwa’u Muhammad.
Abdulrazaq Abubakar Isah was appointed as the interim State Chairman, while Adamu Aliyu is the new State Secretary.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Jamilu Muhammed, urged the public to refrain from engaging with the suspended officials until further notice.
He accused the affected leaders of lacking moral integrity, transparency, and accountability, stating that they had derailed from the party’s core principles, and failed to adopt inclusive and strategic leadership, necessary for unifying and advancing the party.

The embattled ADC State Chairman, Sufiyanu Bala, who is backed by the Malami Movement, condemned the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing it of orchestrating internal unrest within the ADC.
The ADC leadership loyal to Bala also accused the APC of attempting to destabilise the party, due to its waning popularity, and failure to deliver on its promises.
They described Malami as a respected legal luminary, and devoted son of Kebbi State, emphasising that his values and principles are in full alignment with those of the ADC.
