Ten police officers who left their families for another day on the frontline against banditry never made it home.
They were killed on August 10, 2026 during a fierce encounter with suspected bandits along the Mahuta-Kuku axis of Sakaba Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Two weeks later, grief filled the Force Headquarters in Abuja, as the Nigeria Police Force honoured the fallen officers, men the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu says he personally knew and had fought alongside.
