Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has assured medical doctors working in the state that their salaries would be increased, and ordered the Ministry of Health to recruit more doctors and nurses.
Idris disclosed this in Birnin Kebbi, when he was addressing the indigenes of Yauri, Shanghai and Ngaski stakeholders, on the victory of the APC, during the re-run polls and bye-elections held on Saturday.

The governor said the gesture was in a bid to stem the tide of brain drain, leading to an exodus of medical doctors and nurses from the service of the state for greener pastures at federal health institutions.
The governor who was told that the salary difference ranged between N130,000 and N170,000, approved that the gap be immediately closed.
