Following the recent deadly attack in Mera Village, Augie Local Government Area, Kebbi State, the Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida on behalf of State Government has disbursed financial support totaling N82.225 million to affected families.
Each family that lost a loved one received N3 million, individuals with injuries got N750,000 for medical bills, while families whose cattle were stolen received N200,000 per head.
Tafida, representing the State Governor, Nasiru Idris conveyed condolences and reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
According to him, no amount can replace lost lives, pledging government’s efforts to prevent similar tragedies.

The Augie Local Government Council Chairman, Yahaya Mohammed Augie reported 23 deaths, including a mother and her three children. He appreciated the swift government response and Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida’s visits to provide comfort to the affected families.
The additional support that came from Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudo was N30 million and Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs, Yusuf Tanko Sununu, N2.2 million to cushion the hardship of the victims’ families.
Speaking, on behalf of the victims’ families, Chiso Mera thanked the Kebbi State government and other individuals who sympathized with them.
