Kebbi Governor sacks Argungu Hospital chief medical director

Kebbi State, Governor Nasir Idris has ordered the sack of the Chief Medical Director of the Argungu General Hospital, Dr. Emmanuel Ehiem, with immediate effect for mismanagement

The governor gave the directive at Argungu, during the commissioning of the Revitalisation Project, carried out to modernize the hospital, at the cost of N973 million.

He said the complaints he has received could not absolve the CMD from blame of carefree management which necessitated his removal

The governor ordered the Commissioner for Health to get a competent replacement for Dr.Ehiem.

While commissioning the rehabilitated hospital, Governor Idris disclosed that five other hospitals have also been earmarked for the Revitalisation Project.

Governor Idris said Kebbi state has become an active partner with the World Bank in its project for primary health care development.

The objective is to achieve Universal Health Coverage by 2030, as envisaged in the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

The Chairman of Argungu Local Government, Sani Aliyu Gulma, thanked the governor for implementing the Revitalisation Project at the hospital, which had remained in disrepair for thirty years.
