The late Speaker passed away on Monday, 6th April, 2026, at a hospital in Cairo, Egypt, where he had been receiving treatment following a prolonged illness. His death was officially confirmed by the Clerk of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Suleiman Shamaki.

In an emotion-laden condolence message, Governor Idris said he was devastated by the loss of a trusted ally, a committed lawmaker, and an outstanding leader whose devotion to duty, humility, wisdom, and dedication to the service of Kebbi State distinguished him as a true patriot.

The Governor described the late Speaker as a pillar of legislative stability and democratic governance, as well as a dependable partner in the collective effort to advance the development of Kebbi State.
