Kebbi state government has allocated two hundred hecters of land to a private investor for the establishment of an independent solar power project that will generate five thousand, six hundred megawatts of electricity to the state.

A team of thirty Canadian Technicians are due in the state soon to commence work on the project for an entity known as Equity Electricity.

Former Chief of Staff, to the Governor, who is the incumbent National Organization Secretary of the APC, Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, announced this at a news briefing at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, on Saturday.

Suleiman Argungu indicated that the project would be located at Fakon Sarki in Argungu local government which has been designed to improve and stabilize electricity supply to all communities in Kebbi state, as well as create job opportunities.

The National Organizing Secretary APC, who is very keen about the success of the solar power scheme, made it clear that the gesture was in furtherance of the monumental effort by Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu towards ensuring uninterrupted power supply day and night to all nooks and crannies of the state.

He told newsmen that he was fully aware as former Chief of Staff that the billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote, has made a huge investment in Kebbi state by patronizing locally produced rice to the tune of two hundred and sixty million naira especially at the period of covid-19.

He made a passionate appeal to all eligible voters to troop to INEC offices to collect their Permanent Voter’s Cards, PVCs, to enable them exercise their civic responsibility by casting votes for leaders of their choice.
