Kebbi State Government, 6 other Northern States donate N50m each for Victims of Jigawa Petrol Tanker Fire

The Kebbi State Government has condoled with the government and people of Jigawa State over the recent Petrol Tanker fire incident which claimed over 160 lives in Majiya.

The State Deputy Governor, Umar Abubakar Tafida who represented the Governor joined other Northern States Governors who were on the Condolence Visit to Dutse in Jigawa State.

This is contained in a Statement signed by the Senior Special Adviser to the Deputy Governor on Media and Publicity Ibrahim Argungu made available to journalist in Birninkebbi.

The Statement said, In a condolence message to Governor Namadi Inuwa and People of Jigawa State, the Deputy Governor described the incident as a monumental loss not only to the people of Jigawa but to the nation as a whole. He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive those who lost their lives in the inferno, grant them Jannatul firdaus and urged their families and people of Jigawa State to bear the irreparable loss as the will of Allah.

Tafida announced the Kebbi state government’s donation of fifty million naira (N50,000,000) on behalf of Kebbi State Government to the affected families. He prayed for the quick recovery of the injured and Allah’s protection against recurrence of the tragic incident.

Other Northern States Governors of Bauchi, Taraba, Gombe, Borno
Katsina and Yobe donated fifty million Naira each to assist the victims.

Speaking on behalf of the bereaved families and the people of Jigawa State, Governor Namadi Inuwa thanked the Kebbi State Governor and his Deputy as well as other Northern States Governors for their sympathy visit and prayed that Allah reward them abundantly.
