The Chief Judge of Kebbi State, Justice Suleiman Muhammad Ambursa, says the state has emerged as the second-best in tracking cases in Nigeria.
He said this at the Walima/Luncheon and Symposium, organised by the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria, (MULAN), and the Law Officers Association Of Nigeria (LOAN), Kebbi State branches to celebrate the appointment of three High Court Judges.
Justice Ambursa, thanked the Kebbi State governor’s administration for the unprecedented action of appointing eight High Court Judges and four Khadis, more than any other administration in the history of the state.
He acknowledged the cordial relationship between the state government and the judiciary.
The Chief Judge said that the associations have distinguished themselves by honouring them.
The Nigeria Bar Association, Kebbi State chapter, alerted the governor, that some of the judges have resorted to the use of commercial motorcycles and commercial vehicles for transportation, while others were living in rented houses, which could be dangerous to their security.
Governor Bagudu said his administration will provide the necessary security to the judges and lawyers.
Bagudu also said that Kebbi State’s focus is on the prevention of crimes rather than prosecution.
He promised to continue to adequately fund the judiciary, despite limited resources available to the state government.
