To improve Nigeria ‘s health care system and reverse medical tourism, some experts at Kelina Surgical Hospital have called for greater support from the federal government, especially on tax rebates for hospitals .

They were speaking at a media briefing in Lagos to celebrate 212 successful prostate surgeries carried out by the hospital in the year 2025

Prostate cancer, according to the world health organisation WHO, accounts for over 18 % of male cancers in Nigeria, with about 80% of patients diagnosed at an advanced and incurable stage.

Seeking care for prostate cancer has been a major factor for medical tourism by the elite, resulting in capital flight of over 1 to 2 billion US dollars per Annum.

All that is changing now with a focus by kelina Hospital on the most effective treatment options for surgical diseases utilizing best standards worldwide to ensure the safety of patients .

Apart from Prostate Surgery, Kelina Hospital does minimally invasive surgeries in several other specialities, including general surgery, Gynacology, paediatric Surgery,Ear Nose And Throat, Orthopedic Surgery and removal of kidney Stones.

Located in Lagos Nigeria and the federal capital territory Abuja, Kelina Hospital is a world-class health facility established in 2008

It has surpassed 6,000 surgeries and 2,000 successful robotic surgical procedures with a surgical mortality rate better than figures for the best hospital worldwide .
