After one month in captivity, the eighty-year-old Mother of the Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government Betinah Benson, was this Sunday reunited with her family in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.
Family members, friends, and well wishers were in an exciting mood when ait.live visited the released victim at her son’s residence.

Mother of the Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government Betinah Benson, narrated her ordeal during her stay in the kidnappers’ den.
The State’s Commissioner of Police, Echeng Eworo, said the command worked in synergy with other security agencies to enable the unconditional release of the octogenarian from her abductors.
Echeng further disclosed that some arrests were also made in connection with the kidnap, sending a warning to criminals to stay clear from the state, as the command was ready to ensure there was no hiding place for them.
Madam Betinah Benson was abducted by unidentified armed men on July 21, 2021 at the Old Legislative Quarters in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital.
