The police has refuted reports circulating on social media concerning the release of the Edo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Tony Aziegbemi by his kidnappers.

State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye in a telephone call said nothing of such has happened. He however promised to keep the media and the public abreast of developments as it pertains the kidnap of the PDP chieftain.

He expressed hope that the victim will soon regain freedom from his kidnappers as police operatives are working round the clock to ensure that he returns to his family safely.

Meanwhile, more media platforms are posting reports that the Edo PDP Chairman regained his freedom last night. Aziegbemi was kidnapped on March 16 on his way home from an engagement at the Government House in Benin City.
