The Nigerian government says it will not pay ransom to secure the release of kidnaped victims across the country but promises that every victim will be rescued.
This is one of the resolutions at the executive council meeting held at the state house Abuja on Wednesday as the executive council also gave approval for the construction of roads in Kogi, Benin, Lagos and Ogun states.
Addressing Journalists at the state house after the executive council meeting, minister of information and national orientation, Mohammed Idris said president Bola Tinubu, remains resolute in his directive to security agencies and the Ministry of Defense to ensure that those abducted by criminal gangs are brought back to their homes safely.
The ministers of works, Trade Doris Anete and that of communications, innovation and digital economy took their turns to speak on the various projects that the council approved.
Before the council meeting, president Bola Tinubu swore in 17 commissioners of the National Population Commission at the Council Chamber.
Wednesday’s executive council meeting is the third since the beginning of the year.
