Eleven travellers kidnapped at Idu roundabout, along Ozoro-Ughelli Expressway by hoodlums wielding AK-47 Rifles in Nigerian Army Uniform, have been rescued unhurt.
Delta State Commissioner of Police, Ari Muhammed who made the disclosure in a statement says after the kidnap incident occurred Sunday evening, officers from Oleh Police Division were detailed and condoned off surrounding bushes of the place of incident; initiating constant search operation which led the armed kidnappers to flee, leaving their victims behind.
The CP says while the vehicle conveying the travellers has also been recovered, efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing kidnappers.

The statement further revealed that officers from Ekpan Police Station in a separate incident have engaged a gang of robbers in a gun duel along the Nigerian Ports Authority Expressway in Delta State.
One of the robbers, Ovie Maxwell, twenty-five years of age was overpowered and arrested in possession of a locally made gun and two live cartridges; while the others fled after running out of ammunition.
