Following the killing of six soldiers including the abduction of a Captain by terrorists operating in the forest area of Shiroro Local Government Area, the Niger State Governor, Umar Bago has sympathised with the Nigerian Army over the incident.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the Governor described the incident as atrocious, provocative and unacceptable.

He expressed his deepest sympathy with the security agencies who are daily making sacrifices to ensure the safety of citizens, with most of them paying the supreme price.

Bago assured the Nigerian Army and every other conventional and non-conventional security agency that his administration will not rest on its oars in providing all the needed support towards halting the nefarious activities of bandits.

According to the statement, the Governor also used the opportunity to commiserate with the families of the slayed officers and men as well as the vigilante member, promising that their deaths would not be in vain.

Recall that terrorists on Friday night ambushed and killed some security personnel including five soldiers, and a vigilante while on their way to respond to a distress call around Bassa and Alawa communities in Shiroro Local Government Area.
