Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu will be in the United Kingdom for a two-day State visit mid- March.
The Nigerian leader will be guest of the King Charles from the 18th of next month as part of strengthening of ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
This is according to a statement on the British High Commission in Nigeria’s X handle.
The State Visit to the United Kingdom will be the first by a Nigerian leader since 1989.
This comes as an erstwhile career diplomat, Amin Dalhatu was posted to London as Nigeria’s High Commissioner last month.
65 Political and career and career ambassadors were appointed and then confirmed by the Senate late last year to fill the void across the country’s various missions.
Tunji Ishola was the previous Nigerian High Commissioner to Britain whose recall by President Tinubu 3 months into office heralded the mass recall of all 98 Nigerian ambassadors from the various overseas missions on the 1st of September, 2023.
