Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir, has called on the National Assembly’s Committee on Police Affairs, to prioritize welfare of its personnel, and ensure the judicious use of resources allocated to the security apparatus to enhance national security.
The governor conveyed this message through his deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdusalam, during a courtesy visit by the House of Representatives committee on Police Affairs to the Kano State Government House.
The House Committee on Police Affairs was in Kano to inspect the ongoing project of the Police Secondary School in Kabo Local Government Area, assess operations and infrastructure of the Kano Police Command as part of the committee’s oversight functions.
The governor, represented by his deputy, expressed concern over the dire security situation in the country, particularly in the northwest zone, where five out of seven states are grappling with violence, including kidnappings and banditry.
The committee also met with the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Salman Dogo, at the Police Headquarters in Bompai.
The chairman of the committee expressed commitment to strengthening the synergy between it and the Kano State Government.
