Kogi State Government has declared Thursday and Friday as days of mourning in honor of the victims of the Felele tanker accident on Wednesday.
In statement released by the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, states that the Governor and the Government of Kogi State are saddened by the unfortunate incident that claimed many lives in the early hours of Wednesday.
According to the statement, the government values the importance placed on the lives of its people, hence a time was set aside for citizens of all faiths to pray for the repose of the souls of those affected in the unfortunate accident.

The statement added that, in this time of grief, it urges the people of Kogi state to be deep in sober reflection and stand together for one another to pull out of the agonizing loss, while emphasizing the call on road users to act responsibly in order to avert unfortunate situations that simple care and caution could have averted.
While assuring the families that lost loved ones and those whose houses were affected of government’s support at this trying moment, Kogi state government calls on the federal government, spirited individuals and organizations to support those affected to get back on their feet.
