Kogi Election

The people of Kogi East Senatorial District, trooped out in their thousands in Anyigba on Saturday to show support for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Usman Ododo, and promised to strengthen the unity of the state by delivering massively for the APC in the November 11 governorship election.

The Igala indigenes, especially the critical players of the Social Democratic Party, the Peoples Democratic Party, the African Democratic Party, ADP, as well as other illustrious Igala sons and daughters, attended the ruling APC rally in Kogi East Senatorial District.

These people from Kogi East senatorial district promised to deliver massively for the APC in the election to pave way for the continuity of what they described as the detribalised and purposeful leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello.

The Director General, Kogi APC Governorship Campaign Council, and the Minister of Steel Development, Shaibu Abubakar Audu, said the only agenda for the APC was the Kogi Agenda, and added that the party’s candidate was coming to build and consolidate on the legacies of Governor Yahaya Bello.

The Kogi state Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Bello, expressed satisfaction with the massive turnout and enthusiasm displayed by the people of Kogi East and urged them to sustain the tempo to pave way for a landslide victory in the governorship election.

The lawmaker representing Kogi East in the National Assembly, Senator Jibrin Echocho, called on the people of Kogi East who are yet to come into the APC fold to embrace the party to ensure that the election is won on party structures.

The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Edward Onoja, urged the people of Kogi East to vote on the strength of continuity and cautioned against sentiments just as Governor Yahaya Bello cautioned the people against ethnicity and tribal politics.

The APC Governorship Candidate, Ododo, said his aspiration was about the people, progress and unity of the State.

Highlights of the rally was the official welcoming of decampees from the PDP, SDP, and other political parties to the APC.
