THE Kogi state government says it has recovered over 200 diverted Massey Fergusson Tractors distributed to 21 Local Government Areas of the state by the immediate past administration.
Governor Usman Ododo said this during a visit to the facility of the Kogi State Agricultural Development Project, ADP, in company of a delegation from the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission.
Governor Usman Ododo said during the inspection of some of the recovered tractors that government has commenced immediate refurbishment through the facilities of the Kogi ADP and intends to make them available to farmers across the state through a more accountable mechanism.
The Managing Director of the Kogi Agricultural Development Project, ADP, Bello George, noted that the agency will continue to serve the technical purposes of the agricultural sector in the state by providing the relevant support and logistics.
The leader of the RMAFC delegation and National Commissioner of the Commission for Niger state, Ibrahim Shettima, commended the efforts of the Ododo administration in the agricultural sector.
Shettima added that the investments by the KOGI state government were visible and would go a long way to ensure that issues of food insecurity and other socioeconomic challenges are addressed squarely.
