The All Progressives Congress in Kogi state has unveiled the state chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers as running mate to Usman Ododo, its candidate in the November governorship election.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony held at the Government House Lokoja on Saturday, Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello described the combination of Ododo and Joel as a divine mandate that cannot be stopped.

The glass house of the government house was filled to capacity as family members, teachers and APC party supporters converged to witness the unveiling of the state branch chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Joel Salifu as deputy Governorship candidate of the APC.

While presenting the candidate, Yahaya Bello said the reward for teachers must start here on earth, describing the combination of Usman Ododo and Joel Salifu as a divine mandate.

Immediate past chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress Onuh Edoka, and other labour leaders at the event, described the government’s action to include labour members in their government as a win, win situation for all.

For the man who may be leaving the classroom to the government house if the election goes the way of the APC, Yahaya Bello remains his hero.

Until his nomination as deputy governorship candidate, Joel Salifu was the chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers in Kogi state and state branch Treasurer of the NLC
