The Kogi State Governor, who had flagged off the enrolment of the scheme, described it as one of the thematic areas of his new direction in December 2020.
It was also in fulfillment of his “BELLO CARES” programme, as the contribution was made from the income of the political appointees and channeled towards the medical needs of the vulnerable persons.
Some of the beneficiaries commended Governor Bello for the gesture, noting that the initiative was timely.
The Kogi Health Insurance Agency intends to enroll other beneficiaries across the 21 local government areas of the state.
