Kogi hunters gundown three kidnappers arrest two informants

Kogi state hunters have killed three kidnappers in a gun battle while two  informants were arrested early Saturday morning along Lokoja-okene highway.

The kidnappers who were planning to  attack passangers along the Lokoja-okene road, met their waterloo when two of their informants were arrested . 

The senior special adviser (SSA) security in charge of Okehi local government area,  Abdulraheem ohiare and his adavi counterpart, joseph salami, had led the hunters to the hideout of the kidnappers following intelligent reports.

The hunters  on patrol at about 4.30 am apprehended the informants, one godwin peter, a native of ikeje in olamaboro local government area and one sanni habib, a native of idoji in okene local government area.

After interrogation, they confessed to given information to kidnappers for their operations. 

Those arrested led the hunters and the ssa security officials to the kidnappers’ hideouts leading to gun battle during which three of the kidnappers were gunned down while others escaped with gunshots wounds. 

Three sophisticated pump action rifles, bullets, masks and charms were recovered from the kidnappers den.

The security aides said governor, yahaya bello has maintained his non-negotiable stand against any criminal elements in the state and advised them to turn new leaf or get ready to be crushed.
