Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello has flagged off the reconstruction of the thirteen point seventy one kilometers Itakpe to Kabba Junction – Total road in Okene, Central Senatorial District of the state.

Yahaya Bello says the state government decided to embark on the project despite being a federal road because of its strategic importance to the state and transporters across Nigeria.

The Itakpe, Kabba junction to total Okene road has been an eye sore over the years as travelers spend several hours on the thirteen point seventy one kilometer road which is an interchange to the south and western part of Nigeria.

Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello is flagging off the project despite being a federal government road especially because of its strategic socio-economic importance to Kogi residents and Nigerians.

Earlier, the Commissioner for works gave the scope of work to be done, just as the contractor, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation promises to keep to the contract terms.

When completed, the road will fast track socio-economic activities on the corridor and equally reduce travel time for drivers who before now passed through stress on the corridor.
