At least three police officers were killed on Wednesday by hoodlums who were said to have emerged from the bush and attacked a team when it arrived for their routine patrol at pin down point along Okoloke-Pategi road Egbe.
A Statement by Police Public Relations Officer, Kogi State Police Command SP William Ovye Aya, notes that consequent upon the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has ordered the deployment of a tactical team comprising police mobile force, counter-terrorism unit, anti-kidnapping, intelligence and quick response units in working synergy with other security agencies to restore normalcy in the area and trail the hoodlums with a view to apprehending and bringing them to book.

According to the statement, the CP further tasked the deputy commissioner of police, investigation department to commence investigation into the incident.
CP Miller G. Dantawaye, appealed to the good people of the area to assist the police with credible information on the identity of the hoodlums to enable the police to trail and apprehend them.
