The Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has directed its members and chapels to boycott coverage of all activities of a civil society organization, Conscience for Human Rights and Conflicts Resolution.
This follows an alleged series of verbal assaults on Kogi State Chairperson of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Ann Olurinde by the Executive Director of the CSO, Idris Miliki.
The directive was contained in a statement jointly signed by Comrade Adeiza Momohjimoh and Ademu Seidu Haruna, Chairman and Secretary of the NUJ Kogi state council.
Miliki is accused of ‘throwing caution to the wind’ and behaving irresponsibly by verbally attacking the NAWOJ state chairperson over comments meant to be a joke.
The Kogi NUJ therefore, directed its members to boycott all programmes of the Human Rights and Conflicts Resolution group until further further directives are issued.
