The Kogi State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has paraded four groups of suspects involved in vandalization, illegal mining, diversion of petroleum products and snatching of motorcycles.

The State Commandant, Suleiman Mafara, who paraded the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Lokoja , described their actions as a sabotage of the government’s efforts at making the society better for all.

The young men, about fifteen in number mostly in their early twenties, became guests to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps after their arrest for various crimes at different locations in Kogi State.

Commandant, Suleiman Mafara says nine of them are from three different Northern states in Nigeria.

The second, third and fourth suspects according to Mafara were involved in destruction of public utilities while the other two groups were arrested for alleged snatching of motorcycle and diversion of petroleum products

The alleged motorcycle snatcher and transformer vandals confessed to the crimes while the others denied the crimes leveled against them.

This is about the fifth arrest of suspects involved in vandalization of public utilities by the Kogi NSCDC since January 2022 and the commandant, says his men are always ready to burst the hideouts of criminals within the state as the suspects are being charged to court.
