The National Primary Health Care Development Agency has been advised to adopt the primary health structure and template of Kogi State for use across all levels in Nigeria as it possesses the required standard for community health centers.

The advice was given by an anti corruption campaign organization, “follow the money” when they paid an unscheduled visit to some medical facilities in Kogi State.

Following news of investment in the health sector by Kogi State government in public space in recent time, “Follow the Money” campaigners, led by its founder, Hamzat Lawal paid an unscheduled visit to some medical facilities in Kogi State.

The organization is happy at what it saw and wants this primary health care center in Ukpogoro community, Okene local government area of Kogi, adopted as a template by the Primary Health Care Development Agency.

Initiated by Usman Ododo, one of governor Yahaya Bello’s appointees for his community, Hamzat Lawal wants other appointees to give back to their communities in support of the government’s development agenda.

The team also visited the Central Reference Hospital in Okene where they said that school children’s educational performance will be better off when there is good health facility to take care of their medical needs.

The primary health center in Ukogoro named after the late mother of Yahaya Bello, is well fitted with modern medical wares capable of addressing secondary medical cases.
