Kogi State, joint security forces have sustained intense bush-combing operations, leading to the arrest of eight suspects linked to criminal activities, including kidnapping syndicates.
Bandit hideouts were neutralized, and fleeing criminals abandoned their enclaves as operations intensified with ground troops and aerial support.
The information on the latest crackdown was contained in a statement by the Kogi State Police Command, signed by Public Relations Officer, ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat.
Operatives of the Kogi State Police Command, working in close collaboration with the Nigerian Army, local hunters, and vigilante groups, conducted coordinated bush-combing operations across various parts of the state.
These intelligence-led exercises targeted forested and remote areas vulnerable to criminal use, with thorough sweeps complemented by aerial surveillance for better tracking and identification of hideouts.
Bandit camps and hideouts discovered during the operations were neutralized to prevent future reuse and disrupt criminal comfort. Overwhelmed by the superior and coordinated deployment of security forces, suspected criminals fled their enclaves, abandoning several locations.
