The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, says the Nigerian police force remains committed to fostering cordial and effective relations with the Nigerian Immigration Service and all other sister security agencies to improve security across Kogi State.
CP Miller Dantawaye said this during a visit by the newly deployed Comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Kogi state command, Emmanuel Jenewari Tariah, to the command headquarters, Lokoja.
In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer Kogi State Command SP William Ovye Aya, CP Miller Dantawaye reaffirmed the readiness of the police command in lokoja to boost the existing strategic partnership with the Nigerian immigration service to ensure adequate security of lives and property in the state.
The newly deployed Comptroller of Immigration Service, Kogi state command, Emmanuel Jenewari, Tariah, informed the police commissioner that he was at the command to formalize and improve partnership on shared mandates.
According to the newly deployed Comptroller of Immigration Service, Kogi state command, no agency can do it alone hence the need to promote cordial relations between the Nigeria Police Force and the Immigration Service in Kogi State.
He commended the CP Miller Dantawaye and the police management team for the pivotal role of the Nigeria Police Force in crime prevention and detection, pledging that his command will continue to partner with the Kogi police command to carry out strategic operations to identify foreigners who have no business to be in the state.
In another development, the Commissioner of Police also received the state coordinator, National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), Pappy Ajogu, who visited the police headquarters in lokoja.
Pappy Ajogu informed the kogi police chief that NESREA is empowered to enforce compliance with the provisions of international agreements, protocols, conventions and treaties on the environment hence the need for security collaboration with the police for effective enforcement.
He also said that NESREA has the mandate of ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment by enforcing environmental regulations and standards across Kogi state.
