Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has visited the accident scene in Ankpa local government where a tanker explosion claimed the lives of residents and called on the chairman of Local Governments in the state to put in place task force that will regulate roadside trading.
Yahaya Bello who sympathized with Ankpa community and the families of those who lost loved ones in the inferno, said the bills of those receiving medical attention will fully be paid by the state government.
Ankpa community was thrown into mourning on Tuesday when the community lost twenty nine people to a tanker explosion resulting from break failure descending from the Ochinobi-Alor axis of Otukpo road in Ankpa.
Kogi state governor Yahaya Bello, who spoke through his chief of staff, Abdulkareen Asuku at the scene of the accident in company of top government functionaries, wants activities by the roadside regulated to prevent future occurrence.
Yahaya Bello announced government’s preparedness to take over the medical bills of those receiving medical attention, while commiserating with families of those who lost loved ones
