Five people have been burnt beyond recognition in a Kerosene surface tank explosion that rocked Kubwa Satellite Town in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The victims include a child whose identity is still unknown.
The explosion that occurred on Friday evening also left over ten other persons with various degrees of burns.
The FCT Police Command that confirmed the incident said the fire has been brought under control and its officers and men deployed to the scene to prevent hoodlums from taking advantage of the inferno to cause more damage in the area.
Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh says the explosion occurred in Kubwa Village Market opposite the main market.
A similar fire incident also occurred in Mpape also in Bwari Area Council of the Territory where over three containers with goods worth millions of Naira were completely burnt down.
Public Relations Officer of the FCT Fire Service, Taheed Yakubu who confirmed this to ait.live says though the cause of the fire could not be ascertained, there is no casualty recorded.
