The Kwara State Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted a Daf Truck conveying about 1,153 parcels of prohibited cannabis sativa smartly and carefully hidden in fabricated compartments and other components of the Daf truck with estimated duty paid value of over #57million.
The Customs Area Controller, Faith Ojeifo disclosed this during press conference at the Command base in Ilorin the Kwara State capital where he noted that the vehicle was intercepted along the Yamboa Axis of Bukoro in Baruten local government area of the State.
According to the Customs Area Controller, Faith Ojeifo, the seizure of the dangerous drugs was achieved by acting on intelligence reports and enforcement to counter the emerging trend of smuggling activities, assuring that the Daf used in conveying the drugs worth 21.5 million naira will be forfeited to the federal government.

Ojeifo also speaks on other seizures within the period under review.
The dangerous drugs have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the state for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The Command according to the Customs Boss between June & July 2024 generated and remitted over #3billion.
