Most eligible voters boycotted Saturday’s local government election in southern senatorial District of Kwara State over allegations of irregularities that trailed the exercise.
Some of the respondents who spoke to AIT on the conduct of the election decried the late arrival of electoral materials, absence of result sheets amongst other concerns.
The electoral materials and officials arrived Iyeru Ward, Polling unit 1a, 1b,1c and 008 Offa at about 10: 45am, more than two hours behind the official starting time of 8am, a development that agitated the voters who also found out that the election officials failed to come along with complete ballot papers and result sheets.

The story was however different in Ilorin the State capital as the election there went on peacefully.
How the state Independent Electoral Commission intends to address the huge numbers of electorate disenfranchised in some voting centres due to non-availability of necessary voting materials in Offa local government and most parts of Kwara South is left to be seen.
