Indigenes and other stakeholders from the Kwara North Senatorial district under the aegis, Kwara North Youth Consultative forum led by Senator Umar Sodiq have called on other senatorial districts to support its bid to produce the next governor of the state in 2027 after being marginalized for several years.
They include traditional rulers and political stakeholders from across the five councils in the district. They say their demand for the governorship seat is hinged on fairness, equity, justice and opportunity for inclusiveness.
The stakeholders also called for unity amongst indigenes in the senatorial zone, a position they noted will help strengthen their position for inclusiveness within the wider political context in the state.
Kwara North Senatorial District covers five local government areas which include Baruten, Edu, Pategi, Kaiama and Moro.
The region has not been fortunate to have candidates from its extraction emerging as governor since the nation’s return to civilian administration 24 years ago.
