Nineteen people died, while five sustained injuries in a road accident that occured at Kanbi village, new Jebba road in kwara state Thursday June 13, 2024.
A statement signed by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) public education officer Olusegun Ogungbemide said, the crash which occured as a result of excessive speed and wrongful overtaking involved 2 vehicles; a blue Iveco trailer with no trace of registration and a white Toyota Hiace bus with registration number LSD 363 YE.

The statement noted that a total of 25 people were involved, comprising of 13 male adults, 5 female adults, 2 female children and 5 male children.
From this number, 5 people were injured and 19 victims killed, while the injured victims have been taken to Orisun Ayo hospital, 1 corpse was deposited at the morgue of the same hospital and the remaining 18 dead bodies have been claimed by their families.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed expressed displeasure over the alarming rate of recklessness of drivers who have continued to contravene established traffic regulations resulting in harm to lives and destruction to properties.
