Security agencies in Nigeria have been challenged to strengthen their operational base across the nuke and cranny of the country in order to enhance overall efficiency across the country.
The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi, made the call while addressing officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Kwara State Command at the Forward Operating Base, FOB, in Okuta community in Baruten Local Government Area of the state.
While commending the leadership of the NIS for siting the base in the area, Danladi noted that the new FOB in the community will go a long way in curtailing smuggling in the state and Nigeria at large. He called for more visible presence of the NIS in other border communities around the state.
In her remarks, the Comptroller, Kwara State Command of the NIS, Edith Onyemena, maintained that the FOB is meant to support strategic and tactical goal and military operations.

Recall that the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, had challenged the officers of the NIS to address the issue of border porosity in the country in order to put an end to human and illegal trafficking of goods.
