The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and Trade Union Congress, TUC say they will not guarantee industrial harmony, should the issue of national minimum and living wage is stretched beyond May, 2024. They insist that their demand for N615,000 stands.
The two Labour centres also accused the economic policies of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration of placing Nigerian workers in worst situations since
Independence. They also warned the government to stop excessive borrowings and build a stronger governance style.
Labour says managers of the country’s energy sector have shown incompetence and review is needed. They also asked that the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC should reverse the recent electricity tariff hike within one week.

Labour demands also include an increase in retirement age from 60 to 65 years and years of service from 35 to 40 years as was implemented for teachers by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
Labour further challenged government on increased security of lives and property, for optimum development.
On the Labour Party leadership crisis, the organised labour insists that fresh ward congresses must be held.
