The 2014 national working committee of the Labour party says, the leadership of Julius Abure is built on illegality and the Party should urgently implement the 2018 consent judgement.

This is coming from the committee chairman callistus Okafor, while briefing on their struggles since 2014.

The legal adviser of the party, Akinbade Oyelekan who also served under Abdukadir Abdulsalam was at the meeting.

He confirmed that the consent judgement has not been implemented.

However, the national transition committee NTC set up by the political commission of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC is also working to ensure an all inclusive convention that will birth a new leadership of Labour Party.

According to to NLC, only the 2014 national convention is legal.

During the 2014 convention, Okafor was elected as deputy chairman , Julius Abure acting national chairman when abdulsalam abdukadir was made National Chairman of the party, at the convention presided over by Dan Nwanyawu

The crisis started in October 2017 when Abdulsalam Abdukadir was removed for alleged embezzlement that resulted to legal issues until 2018 when both factions agreed to an all inclusive convention.
