The association of senior civil servants of Nigeria has flayed the decision of the federal government to commence the process of merging some ministries, departments and agencies, MDAs and scrap others, in line with the Steve Oransaiye report submitted 8 years ago.
The union says these measures will send thousands of public service employees into the over saturated labour market.
Not able to see the logic behind government’s decision at this time when the coronavirus is contracting economies of the world, the union describes this as the insensitivity of government to the suffering of millions of Nigerians.
Rather than provide financial stimulus to the economy, upgrade medical facilities and provide welfare packages for citizens, the union says government is devising strategies to sack workers in the name of restructuring the MDA’s.
