The Nigerian Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has identified lack of good governance and weak institutional capacity as the major factors militating against the country’s development.
Osibanjo spoke in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital on Friday during the closing ceremony of the 21st edition of the Joint Planning Board (JPB), and National Council on Development (NCDP), hosted by the State.
He says the way public institutions agencies perform their public affairs, manage public resources and ensure equity and rule of law, are what makes the difference between the poor and developed countries.
The chopper aircraft conveying the Nigerian Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo touched down at the yet to be completed Ebonyi State International airport.
The Vice President was on a two day working visit to the State and Governor Dave Umahi, accompanied by senior state government officials, as well as crowd of political supporters, were on ground to welcome the number two citizen of the country.

Done with that event, the Vice President moved to commission some projects embarked upon by Governor Dave Umahi’s administration.
The projects include; the new Government House chapel, the 3.6 kilometres dualised Abakaliki-Enugu express road, the Mile 50 Ishieke Road, and the 6-spam Senator Egwu flyover bridge
