32 years after the annulment of the presidential election by the military led administration of General Ibrahim Babangida some concerned Nigerians want president Bola Tinubu to recognise the efforts of some activists and others who lost their lives in the struggle in their efforts to sustain the nation’s democracy.
According to the spokesman of the group, Defend Nigeria Movement and Nigerians Unite for Democracy ( NUD) Razaaq Olokoba during a press briefing in Lagos Thursday as part of the Democracy Day celebration urged president Bola Tinubu to recognize the caolition of June 12 Activists and Martyrs considering the roles they played in stabilizing the nascent Nation’s Democracy and keeping the hopes of the people alive ,uniting the nation for good.
For them, the annulment of the June 12 presidential election was a disservice to the electorate across the country who filed out emasse to elect their leader even as the election was adjudged as the best so far in the nation’s political history.
They commended president Bola Tinubu for his bold and daring economic reforms which they say will reduce the difficulties faced by Nigerians
