The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed the death of one hundred and two persons due to lassa fever.
The confirmation is comes via the website of the agency.
NCDC noted that cases of lassa fever have risen to 4,632 in the country, thus putting states in Nigeria on red alert of the virus.
The NCDC therefore warns of possibilities of the virus showing symptoms of malaria.
The agency noted that three states accounted for 84 per cent of cases in 2021.

Edo state has 42 per cent, Ondo 34 per cent, and Bauchi eight per cent.
In the last ten weeks, Nigeria has been battling to contain Lassa fever outbreak across the country which has been overshadowed by the new coronavirus outbreak.
NCDC has, however, assured members of the public that it was closely monitoring and responding to the outbreak of the disease.
