President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio has expressed shock and deep sadness over the sudden death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who was Chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream).
In a condolence message, Akpabio described Ubah as a shining light of democracy, a young democrat with vibrant ideas, and a hardworking legislator committed to equity, fairness, and justice. He praised Ubah’s dedication to serving his constituents and the country.
Akpabio noted that Ubah’s passing has left a void in the National Assembly, but his legacy and contributions will be a source of comfort and inspiration to his family, constituents, political associates, and the people of Anambra State during this difficult time.
And Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin has also expressed his condolences over the passing of the APC Senator, Ifeanyi Ubah in the United Kingdom.
In a statement, Senator Barau described the late Senator from Anambra South as a patriotic Nigerian “par excellence” who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of his constituents and beyond.
He praised Ubah’s commitment to the Nigerian project through his contributions to the Senate, sports, and business.
Barau extends his condolences to Senator Ubah’s immediate family, the people of Anambra South Senatorial District, and the entire Anambra State, praying that God grants them the strength to bear this loss.
He remembered Ubah as an excellent lawmaker, business tycoon, and football administrator who made significant contributions to addressing Nigeria’s challenges.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Southern Senators Forum is also mourning the loss of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, a dedicated member of the forum.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, the Forum praised Ubah’s significant contributions to business, legislation, Anambra State, and the country.
The Forum highlighted Ubah’s remarkable business achievements, noting how his entrepreneurial ventures positively impacted the economy.
They commended his dedication and effectiveness as a legislator, where his efforts shaped policies and advanced the interests of his constituency and the nation.
The Forum also recognised Ubah’s commitment to developing Anambra State, emphasising his role in initiatives that brought progress and prosperity to the state and the South-East region.
