Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has paid glowing tributes to the late Senator Solomon Ewuga, describing him as a selfless leader, bridge-builder, and public servant who devoted his life to the service of God and humanity.
Speaking during the funeral service held in honour of the late senator at the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC) in Nasarawa Eggon, Governor Sule said he felt humbled to speak at the event, moved by the need to honour a man who gave so much to the state and the nation.
The late Senator Solomon Ewuga, who died at the age of 70, once served as the Deputy Governor under Abdullahi Adamu’s administration, the first civilian governor of Nasarawa State.
He also served as Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory and represented Nasarawa North in the Senate demonstrating an unwavering dedication to public service.
Governor Sule noted that Senator Ewuga’s faith, humility, and sense of duty reflected his belief that leadership is about service and sacrifice, not self-interest.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, described the late Solomon Ewuga as a politician of rare integrity whose legacy and character left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s political landscape.
In his sermon, the General Secretary of the ERCC, Very Reverend Gagara Maluche, spoke on the inevitability of death, reminding all that every position of power is temporary, and that true legacy lies in the number of lives one touches while alive.
Wife of the late Senator, Josephine Ewuga, who spoke on behalf of the family, said her husband’s death is a great loss, but expressed consolation that he lived a fulfilled and impactful life dedicated to the service of humanity.
Other dignitaries at the burial prayed for God to grant his soul eternal rest and give his family the strength to bear the loss, describing the late Senator Solomon Ewuga as a revered statesman, community leader, and mentor to many across Nasarawa State and beyond.
