Justice administration in Ebonyi State is facing threat of further delay following the indefinite partial strike embarked upon by the Ebonyi State chapter of the law officers association of Nigeria.
The industrial action was called this Tuesday over welfare-related issues Chairman of the association, Ndubuisi Ogbuinya told journalists in Abakaliki the state capital, that the association was boycotting the courts to press home their demand for improved working condition.
Ogbuinya accused the government of excluding the law officers from the 2020 new minimum wage, refusal to refund pocket expenses incurred by the lawyers in the course of prosecuting government matters, and non-implementation of the harmonization of the lawyers’ salary and condition of service, with that of the magistrate in the judiciary.

Efforts to get the reactions of the state government proved abortive as the state’s Attorney General could not be reached as at the time of filing this report.
